Here are some tips for best methods of using the whiteboard to effectively engage your audience.

Step 1
Display the whiteboard clearly in the front of the room where all the students’ in the room can easily see what is being presented and discussed. (board should be in the centre of the room)
Step2

When writing keep facing the audience whenever you can. Break writing down into manageable portions so that you're never turning your back for long.

Step 3
Space the information. Don't clutter your board too much.

Step4
Write clearly, legibly and keep the font size reasonable. Bigger is better

Step 4
Write from left to right and top to bottom. If dealing with different ideas or concepts it may be useful to divide the board in sections

Step5
Do not write words at the very bottom of the board or in the margins. The students in the back will not see the words at the bottom, and no one will see the words in the margins.

Step6
Use bright colored whiteboard markers to write in big clear letters and try not to write in cursive handwriting. Use different colors to highlight important point

Step7

Avoid reading to people from the whiteboard. If you wrote it up there, they can read it. Reading from the whiteboard belabors the point and the audience can sometimes see it as condescending.

Step 8
Once you have put critical points on the board, stay to the side so that students can see what you have written.

Step9
From time to time, look at the board from far away from a student's point of view.

Step10
Do not leave mark on the white board overnight(cause board to be stain)

How to Clean Whiteboards

Step 1
Erase all marks on the whiteboard using a standard whiteboard eraser. Make sure you use the eraser over the entire board.

Step 2
Apply hand sanitizer to the back of paper towels. Wipe the wet paper towels over the entire whiteboard. The alcohol in the hand sanitizer will help to remove stubborn marks.

Step 3
Use alcohol wipes on the whiteboard. After using the alcohol wipes, you can rub the surface again with dry paper towels.

Step 4
Spray a standard cleansing solution such as Formula 409 over the board and rub with paper towels. Other cleaning solutions will work well, provided they contain some alcohol in them.

Step 5
Create a solution of equal parts alcohol and water. Dip paper towels in the solution and apply to the board.

Step 6
Apply steady, firm pressure to remove tough marks. Make sure you have plenty of alcohol solution on the paper towels while applying this consistent pressure.

Step 7
Allow the whiteboard to air dry for two hours before using it again. Even if the board feels dry to the touch, it still needs a couple of hours to fully dry
